Former Prep Stars Going Dancing

It wasn’t all that long ago that some of these collegiate players starred as prep hoopers  on the hardwood here in Colorado. Now they have moved on and will be participating in the NCAA Tournament this week starting on Tuesday when Gus Nehme former Cheyenne Mountain star and his FDU team takes on Florida Gulf Coast.

Josh Perkins a former Regis Jesuit standout  will be returning to Denver with his Gonzaga Bulldogs on Thursday to play Seton Hall.

Eight former Colorado prepers are on the roster for CU they travel Des Moines to play UConn on Thursday.

Zach Braxton and the Weber State Wildcats will play Xavier on Friday night.

Brent Wrapp will be playing  with Cal State – Bakersfield when they take on OU in OKC Friday afternoon.

 

University of Colorado

Josh Scott – Lewis-Palmer – Then  4A Champs –  Now –  Avg 16 ppg along with 8 + rpg for Buffs

Wesley Gordon – Sierra – Then Lost to J. Scott’s LP team in the state finals – Now 7.2 ppg and 7 rpg

Xavier Talton – Sterling –  Then  4A State Champs  jr. year – 4.7 ppg and 90% free throw shooter

Dom Collier – Denver East – 5A Champs 2014 – Now 7.5 ppg

Mitch Lombard – Rock Canyon –  played in 6 games this season

Brett Brady – Highlands Ranch – played in 10 games this season

Josh Repine – Kent Denver-  Then  3A Runner up – played in 6 games this season

Derrick White – Legend – sitting out the season after transfer from UCCS where he was a record setting guard.

Gonzaga

Josh Perkins – Regis Jesuit – guided Raiders to Great 8 last year in CO – Now 10 ppg along with 4apg

 Cal State- Bakersfield

Brent Wrapp – Fairview  – Played in 30 games averaging near 30 minutes a game  5 ppg and 4apg

Weber State

Zach Braxton – Highlands Ranch – Averaging 20 minutes a game, along with 6 points and 4 rebs

Fairleigh Dickinson

Gus Nehme – Cheyenne Mountian  – Had a great performance in the Great 8 senior year leading Indians to the final four. – Now- getting about 11 minutes per game this season averaging 4 ppg.
