Basketball Colorado’s Final Regular Season 5A Top 10 – 2/22/2015

Basketball Colorado’s Final Regular Season 5A Top 10 – 2/22/2015

What a finale to the regular season this past week was in 5A. If last week was any indication of what the 5A tournament is going to be like, it could be the most exciting tournament we have seen in over a decade.  With the landscape of 5A basketball what it is, it would not be surprising to see any of our top 10 in Boulder. On the flip side it could be very possible that a team or two outside of the top 10 will make it to Boulder as well.

10. Legend (17-6) – The Titans finally got the signature wins it had been looking for by beating Rock Canyon and crosstown rival Chaparral.

9. Mountain Vista (18-5) – The Golden Eagles end the regular season flying high with wins over #3 Regis Jesuit and #1 ThunderRidge

8. Dakota Ridge (21-2) – The Eagles were simply the best team in Jeffco this year.

7. Monarch (20-3) – Since losing to Fossil Ridge in mid January the Coyotes are 10-1 and have the best patience on offense this side of the Mississippi.

6. Fossil Ridge (17-6) – SaberCats finished league play 11-1, interesting fact senior forward Ryan Quaid finished with 18 double-doubles this year.

5. Eaglecrest (18-5) – The Raptors had only two losses in a super competitive Centennial League

4. Rangeview (18-5) – Rangeview picked up another EMAC championship

3. Regis Jesuit (21-2) – The Raiders lost at the buzzer to Mountain Vista last Tuesday but handled 4A Ponderosa to finish second in the Continental League.

2. ThunderRidge (20-3) – ThunderRidge went 0-2 last week with losses to Chaparral and Mountain Vista proving that the Continental League was easily the toughest 5A league this year.

1. Overland (18-5) – The Trailblazers started as our preseason #1 and have climbed their way back to the top of 5A. The Trailblazers have only 2 instate losses: to Regis the first game of the season and to Eaglecrest without DeRon Davis.
