Denver, CO- Jevoa1012329ef843dfa5dfade0d0e818dd3987cf554n Taylor, the sweet shooting 6’4 senior guard out of George Washington High School has committed to play basketball for Division II Emporia State University in Kansas next season. “It felt right, so I cancelled my other visits, ” said Taylor.  Taylor led the Patriots in scoring, averaging 18.4 ppg, while shooting 41% from three-point land. Taylor will be going to a Hornet team that finished 8th in the highly competitive Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and is losing two of its top three 3-point shooters to graduation.

Taylor went on a visit to Emporia State last weekend with his father and was so impressed by the Hornets coaching staff, facilities, and the community support on and off campus that he committed after his visit. “The team is really cool and has lots of potential for down the road,” said Taylor. Taylor and his father, Lance, both mentioned another selling point for the Hornets was the academic support offered by the school and the chemistry between the coaching staff and the players. Lance said from his perspective, “I left believing his abilities will be what determine his opportunities, and that’s all I can ask for.”
