Cherry Creek Holiday Classic – Day 1 Wrap Up
The Cherry Creek Holiday Classic tipped off Monday afternoon at Cherry Creek High School.
Game 1 Highlands Ranch 61 Pine Creek 47
The inside game of Highlands Ranch was just too much for Pine Creek to handle. Pine Creek did however have some nice plays including the half court buzzer beater at the end of the 1st quarter to pull the Eagles close. Jack Fiddler and Matt Jeffords led the way in the paint for the Falcons.

Game 2 Legend 91 Thomas Jefferson 77
It was all Thomas Jefferson in the first half of the game. The Spartan 2-2-1 press sped up the Titans just enough to forces a few turnovers and Legend did not appear to be totally focused on the game. Ravel Moody went on to score 19 points in the first half for Thomas Jefferson and his dunk over a Titan defender seemed to wake up the crowd.
As the second half started Legend made a furious comeback scoring 28 points in the quarter. A three pointer by Monroe Porter tied the game at 54 with 2:10 left in the 3rd quarter and a three by Bradley Caldwell gave the Titans the lead for good. The Titans finished off the quarter with a dunk
Despite fouling Moody on a three point shot with 1.9 seconds left, the Trojans lead the Spartans at the end of the quarter. Riley Matticks attacked the basket at will for the Titans creating open lanes for lay ups for himself or kick out to shooters. At the beginning of the 4th quarter it seemed like it might a game decided at the buzzer. But the Titans caught fire and put the game away fairly quickly, this time scoring 29 points in the fourth quarter led by the 12 points of Matticks.
