5A Playoff Outlook
With just three weeks left in the season this is what snow days are made for, early prognostication of who gets a bye, who is in and who is out of the 5A state playoffs. Remember there are still six to seven games left for most teams in league play. Which means something unexpected is going to happen. This is the last year that the seeding committee will be used to determine the playoff field, next year’s field being decided by the RPI.
Who gets a bye –
With 48 teams making the 5A playoffs, the top 16 seeds get a bye. Also league winners get a bye as well which could make seeding really interesting if the unexpected happens.

Don’t forget the committee really take into account the last 10 games and league play so no one can afford a six game losing streak or go 1-5 heading into selection Sunday especially if one of the bubble teams or one of the bottom 15 get hot.

There will be 15 teams that will be on the outside looking in to the playoffs this year. There is still time for some of these teams to get on a roll in the next six games and make a legitimate claim for the playoffs.

Better get some league wins to solidify the playoff resume, if not going winless in your league may get you bumped out of the playoffs.
