Basketball Colorado 4A Top10 – Week of Jan 29th

Wow! What a week! 4A is the most competitive it has been across the board in recent memory.   Expect even more upsets and exciting games as the season moves towards the playoffs. There are a number of teams like Durango, Mesa Ridge, Silver Creek, Lewis-Palmer, and Vista Peak that are all worthy of Top10 consideration and could break through or jump back up soon. 

1. Pueblo West 15-1, 4-0

The Cyclones swept the through the South and East gauntlet with ease. Now they face Central, County, and Liberty this week. 

2. Valor Christian 13-4, 7-1

Valor began its second trip through Jeffco 4A with a victory over Green Mountian. This week its hosting #6 Golden Wednesday and then traveling to #5 D’Evelyn on Saturday. 

3.  Sand Creek 14-3, 6-2

Sand Creek lost two games last week Vista Ridge and Lewis-Palmer. Air Academy and Discovery Canyon are on the docket this week. 

4. Holy Family 13-4, 8-0 

The Tigers are being the Tigers 8-0 in the league and cruising along to the playoffs. Frederick and Berthoud await this week.  

5. D’Evelyn 14-3, 7-1

The Jaguars may have played their best game of the season against Golden but then lost to a good Evergreen team. No rest for D’Evelyn as they travel to Wheat Ridge and then host #3 Valor on Saturday. 

6. Golden 13-4, 5-3

The Demons went toe to toe with D’Evelyn last week and ran out of time. This week Golden travels to #3 Valor and then to Standley Lake.

7. Sierra 13-3, 9-0

The Stallions had two nail bitters last week against Mesa Ridge and Widefield. This week Sierra has 3 games: Elizabeth, Woodland Park and at Mitchell. 

8. Pueblo South 10-6, 3-2

South took two losses last week to West and Centennial. The Colts look to rebound against Pueblo East, Central, and 5A Pine Creek. 

9. Mead 14-3, 7-1 

The Mavericks take on rival Erie this week as well as Frederick. Mavericks have to stay focused for the rematch with Holy Family in a couple of weeks.  

10.  Northridge 13-3, 7-0 

Handed Silver Creek their second loss of the year last week. Now the Grizzlies are in the driver’s seat for the league title.  This week Northridge will face Thompson Valley and Mountain View.
